How to identify tempered glass

How to identify tempered glass

After the toughened glass is broken, the fragments will be broken into uniform small particles without the sharp corners of ordinary glass blades, so it is called safety glass and is widely used in automobiles and interior decoration. In the home, the sharp knife-shaped corners of ordinary glass can easily cut children or hit persons, causing personal injury. Whether the glass breaks into small particles or a knife shape is the main difference between tempered glass and ordinary glass. But in engineering inspections, it is undoubtedly unrealistic to use such destructive inspections at all times. So how can you know if you are buying tempered glass?
Tempered glass is obtained by cutting ordinary annealed glass to the required size, then heating it to a near softening point, and then performing rapid and uniform cooling. After tempering, uniform pressure is formed on the surface of the glass, and tension is formed inside, which greatly improves the performance of the glass. The tensile strength is more than 3 times that of ordinary glass, and the impact resistance is more than 5 times that of ordinary glass.
The tension characteristic of tempered glass has become an important sign to distinguish true and false tempered glass, that is, tempered glass can see colored stripes on the edge of the glass through the polarizer, and black and white spots can be seen on the surface of the glass. The polarizer can be found in the camera lens or glasses. Pay attention to the adjustment of the light source when observing, so that it is easier to observe.
Look at the color of tempered glass. If the color is wavy, it means it is.
